Going to Assisi today; as with much here, can’t believe it’s real (was always pictures).

The frisson –

An abstract person (event, action) is made real at a real site.

For theater: can we find a way to make an abstract site (stage) real with a real event?

Real = we are alive here in a way that helps us live here… We are, at least for the time of the performance, at home (a complex home, not sentimental). And we may be at home in the world blueprinted by the performance for some time, and on the road…

Realistically: How can we live in theater?

The cross-cultural and enduring answer: It is an ethic.
