The inexact questions (and we want exactitude) – What play? What writer? How do we produce it? How do we sustain the means of production? More precise: Why do people need to get together now? Around what? What resources are required to enable the gathering? How will the people gathered be the resource itself, and extending outwards, how will their control of the resources reflect the ethic of their gathering? A play is an accident of community organization. First is the community, and its principles of organization, and the form of the play (if a play is called for) is made on this template. Football may also be called for, or equal oddness. Fine, strange plays that take honest rehearsal are on the table; they’re what I live for. They aren’t the table.
