Who We Are

ehn Who We AreErik Ehn (Playwright) is married to scenic artist Patricia Chanteloube-Ehn. His work includes The Saint Plays, Heavenly Shades of Night Are Falling, Maria Kizito, No Time Like the Present, Wolf at the Door, Tailings, Beginner, Ideas of Good and Evil, and an adaptation of Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury. He is an artistic associate at San Francisco’s Theatre of Yugen, most recently writing Crazy Horse for them, which combined Noh forms with Native American music and dance. His plays have been produced in San Francisco (Intersection, Thick Description, Yugen), Seattle (Annex, Empty Space), Austin (Frontera), New York (BACA, Whitney Museum), San Diego (Sledgehammer), Chicago (Red Moon), and elsewhere. He has a longstanding collaborative relationship with the Undermain Theater in Dallas, is co-founder of the Tenderloin Opera Company in San Francisco (with Lisa Bielawa), and is founder of the Arts in the One World Conference. He is a graduate of New Dramatists and the former dean of California Institute of the Arts School of Theater.  He is head of Playwriting at Brown University.

Meredith Lynsey Schade (Lead Producer) has produced and assisted on many premieres, including Michel Vinaver’s 11 septembre 2001, Stephen Dillane’s Macbeth (A Modern Ecstasy), and Sintroca’s LaSanta. She was the Associate Producer on the award-winning Bully, starring Richard Fry and The British Ambassador’s Belly Dancer, both of which premiered in London and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2008. Prior to her return to New York City, she was the Executive Director of ArtWallah, as South Asian diasporic arts organization in Los Angeles, featuring the annual ArtWallah Festival of dance, film, literature, music, spoken word, theatre and visual art. She has collaborated extensively, including work with Barrington Stage Company, Center for New Performance, Classic Stage Comany, Dee Gee Entertainment and the Sundance Theatre Lab, at which she assisted in developing Taking Flight, Measure for Pleasure, Most Wanted and Passing Strange. She is a founding member of the Arts in the One World, created by Erik Ehn in 2005. She holds a MFA in Producing from CalArts and a BFA in Design/Technical Theatre from UConn.

Rebecca Johannsen (Co-Producer) is the former Artistic Director and Founder of Stone Soup Theatre Company in San Diego, one of San Diego’s most critical acclaimed theatre companies. For the past ten years she has produced, directed and acted for the company in a wide range of projects, from producing the San Diego production of Jonathan Larson’s tick, tick…BOOM! To starring in the title role in August Strindberg’s Miss Julie. Rebecca holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from the University of California Irvine, an M.A. in Theatre from San Diego State University and currently teaches theatre history at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
